One sentence in each of the following pairs is a run-on sentence. Find and correct the error, using an effective revision strategy. Mark the correct sentence “OK.” Example:

Although
a. ^Joe Hill may not have been the first martyr of the labor movement, however, he was certainly its most skillful worker with words and music.

b. Before his arrest in 1914 for killing a grocer in Salt Lake City, Joe Hill was simply the Swedish immigrant Joseph Hillstorm; no one knew or cared much about him. OK



1.
a. Ralph Chaplin was the only person who wrote anything about Joe Hill before Hill’s execution, he jotted down just a few notes based on an interview with a drunken sailor.

b. Serious historical research has not confirmed or denied those notes because researchers have turned up quite different stories.

2.
a. All the evidence introduced at Hill’s trial was circumstantial; furthermore, the dead man’s son, who had witness the murder, refused to identify Hill as the gunman.

b. Did the state hide evidence it certainly seemed that way.

3.
a. One Wobbly told the police that he had been with Joe Hill in another location on the night of the murder, he also told a detective he could prove Hill’s innocence.

b. That man was promptly arrested and held in jail for the duration of the trial.

b. Hill’s own attorneys did not do much to help him their attitude was as negative as that of the prosecutors.

a. The state never showed a motive for the murder ; furthermore, much evidence that Hill’s attorneys could have used was never introduced.

b. How did Hill get that bullet wound in his chest, he told the doctor he had gotten it in a fight over a women.
