run flash player on a 64 bit computer?

I just bought a computer that has a 64 bit browser. When I went to download flash player, it wouldn't let me. A browser came up that said that I could not run it on my computer because flash player uses a 32 bit browser. It said that I could operate it if I was using a 32 bit browser on my 64 bit browser.
Does anyone know how I would be able to do that?
