Rumor - OS 4.2 on Tmo for 8700 Mid to Late Sept

Haven't heard anything recently. When I made this thread there was word from someone in Tmo. Wasn't there yesterday when I checked Tmo's site.
 
I'm new to the whole BB thing. Do I have to wait for Cingular to push the new os to my BB or is there a way I can upgrade it myself.
 
Hi Boaterguy, Its something you do yourself thru the application loader. But we are all still waiting for the new os to be released. When it does, you will know, this place will light up like a christmas tree.
 
When it does come out does anyone know the cost, or how you will be able to download it. Will the old system have to be erased before the new one can be implemented.

Muddy Ground, When OS 4.2 for the 8700 is release it will be as easy as downloading both OS 4.2 executable and Desktop Manager 4.2, installing both on your PC, then using Apps Loader to install it on your BB. No charge, and no real problem. As normal, before installing anything on your BB, you will want to do a backup before attempting the installation.

Thanks Rcbjr, so when it comes out you download it onto the desktop computer than transfer it onto the blackberry. Is that by using the usb connection.
