I like how Reagan, Clinton, and Bush didn't boldly declare that only a failure of leadership causes a debt ceiling increase.
 
I guess it's Awesome Leadership™ when the president's initiatives are so heavily responsible for squandering budget surpluses and ending up nearly doubling the national debt, taking it from 6 trillion to 10 trillion.
