anyone ever took the exams from Royal School Of Music? particularly the piano exam? care to share how you prepared, how the exam was, etc?

Thanks!

in general...
technical arpeggios, scale knowledge, performance, sightreading....

3 hours of practice everyday with just regular technical practicing, some required pieces, 1 showcase piece, and practiced a lot of sightreading.

yea i know. i took it like 15 years ago as well, dont remember what grade. but that was back when i was forced to play piano and i hated it. in the last year ive started playing again by my own volition and wants another try at the test..

i just took the final grade 8 piano exam in june 2008

im assuming you have the ABRSM books - pieces, scales, sight reading, aural tests? just practiced the scales and my three chosen pieces pretty regularly. also went through the sight reading book, and practiced the aural tests.

feel free to hit me up if you want to ask anything

nah i dont have the books yet. this idea of re-taking the test just struck me no more than 24 hours ago. i am extremely slow at sight reading. i play much better by ear.
