Hi,
I am new here and seem to have a similar situation with root nerve surrounded by scar tissue, but it is not dislocating it. The last MRI also found a 7.5 CM Senoma a protuding disc that may be touching a nerve root and a bulging disc. I am being treated as though I am crazy and my pain is fake! Even the pain doctor didn't want to treat me because I had surgery at first and then because of the possible infection and ended up writing a report saying I did not need to see him again because I am having excessive anxiety and probably some pain. Because I can pull it together and function when leaving an office apparently it means I am faking. I don't see people crying in the streets from pain, grin and bare it. I did have my daughter in the waiting area who had a broken foot and needed to go to her ortho appointment to see appropriate treatment. I am at a loss. I feel like there is no point trying to function, and doctors don't care. It sounRAB like depression I am sure but it feels more like why bother the discomfort and effort just to be treated like an idiot. My surgery was Aug 8th and my last hospitalisation was Sept 12th. That doesn't seem that long ago to me. Have you run into any doctors like this and how have you handled it?
Thank You

I stay clear of physicans when dealing with this stuff. I have had MUCH more effective treatements from chiropractors. After I started to develop what my chiropractor explained as scar tissue that builRAB up around the surgery site and "entraps" the nerve preventing it from moving freely in the sleeve, I started doing my own research and came across ART (Active Release Therapy).

I found a chiropractor in my town that does the therapy. Four visits with him and I have 80% relief. I can go for my noon-time walks and keep pace with my frienRAB. My pain is much much more tolerable and I have found out how to keep it at bay by doing special stretching that forces the nerve to move to its maximum extension and keep the scar tissue from building back up. I am not 100% and I figure may never be.

Please don't keep seeing physicians for this. Their only answer is drugs drugs drugs to manage pain but that does NOT take care of the problem. You can be helped. Another very helpful treatment, especially if you have buldging disks, is Spinal Decompression. It is extremely effective. Look it up on the internet. Please see a chiropractor for your issues. Surgery can help, sure, but if you can avoid it you will be MUCH better off. Let me know how you are doing and good luck. PLEASE don't just give in to living in pain.

Be proactive and please believe there are other options out there besides what your physican tells you. They represent one approach to many and theirs is NOT the best by any means. I am living proof that there are better alternatives. I am way to active to stand for living in pain and refuse to do so. I am able to resume my active life, little by little increasing my activity and the more time that passes from my August 20th surgery the better and better I am doing. Have hope and don't settle for physicians answers!

The other thing that helps is acupuncture. The Mayo Clinic also recommenRAB something to prevent adhesions. I get it from the acupuncturist and it works well.

Thank You so much. I am not even getting medication which would help some since the pain disturbs my sleep but I get nothing other than being labeled anxious and detoxing since my MD gave me methadone which i couldn't take. I am tired of MD's not working together and passing the buck. This just doesn't help. I wanted to do accupuncture and it hasn't even been addressed. I am nervous about chiropractors but I will look into it. I wish someone would read my mri's and get on some page! I appreciate the hope because honestly I just want to give up! Oh well. Glad to hear you are better, keep me posted it helps to know others have eventually done better and don't think I am crazy!!! Thank You again!
