Roof Shingles damaged by wind storm?

Recently there was a small wind storm and some of the shingles on my roof has been damaged
i am wondering how do roofing companies work if i were to repair the roof would i need to replace the whole area or can i just get that specific spot fixed

what are the typical cost of replacing shingles on a roof
