Roof my Mouth red

Can gastritis or gerd cause the roof of the mouth to look red? I've had this respiratory infection for the past 2 weeks and I'm on pencillin. I have a few red dots on my throat which I get sometimes but in addition to this the roof of my mouth just looks a little more red than usual.

One other question, the burning has cut down alot since I started the Protonix 2 days ago however my mouth seems somewhat hot. Would heartburn cause me to show a temperature above normal?
 
I don't think heartburn would show you to have a temp but sounRAB like you very well could have some sort of infection that would make you have a temp. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Charberry, your right I do have a respiratory infection. The roof of my mouth isn't red today and the red dots are gone. Boy, this is confusing though.
