Unlike the statists in Washington, the freedom movement understands that our health care is too important to be left to the whims of politicians and bureaucrats.

More Americans are realizing that the Obama administration
 
you're going to sneak in a worthwhile post one of these days, just you wait.. and wait, and wai.. etc
 
so how is a tax credit good for 100% of medical expenses different than the other side of the spectrum of social engineering that is the mandate? how would that not line the pockets of insurance companies just as much? oh, because you don't have to buy insurance if you don't want to (but would be a fool not to)
 
that's a good point. I'd say taken in isolation it wouldn't be fundamentally different. However with the stated goal of abolishing or significantly curtailing the income tax, I think it's more of a stepping stone in that direction.
 
People would be more willing to get insurance if 100% of the expenses can come straight from the taxes they already pay, rather than requiring a person to buy insurance and fine him/her if they don't. The current plan increases the cost for the individual, this new plan gives people tax breaks.
