It means that we as human beings have rights, and just because they are not explicitly protected (enumerated) in the bill of rights does not give the government the right to infringe upon the liberties of its citizens.

What does it mean to you?

I know this is a few years old, but I think it's interesting. Perhaps the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Or maybe Ron Paul is bonkers.

Not really.

I wouldn't disagree that "blackbarber.com" is racist. Just as "whitebarber.com" would be racist - but its not in violation with the CRA.

If a black barber shop TURNED AWAY white customers, it would be a different story.

If disputing Civil Rights is going to be the new GOP platform, you guys are fucked.

the reality of the situation is that inherent in the right of property is the right to discriminate. If you cannot determine who is allowed on your property, then you really have no property. A property owner has the right to exclude any person he wants from his property for any reason - white, black, jew, english, atheist, christian, libertarian, communist, left handed, gay, straight, man, woman, stupid, rude, smart, whatthefuckever

What??? If you want welfare so bad you can quit your job and live under a bridge. No ones denying you of that.

People cant change their race/sex/ethnicity as easily.

People yelling racists at every single thing does nothing to help the problem but in fact is one of the very acts that keeps the cycle of separation and hate rolling.

instead sit back and remember as humans we are born with an innate fear of the unknown and tend to stick with things that we are most familiar with, it could be that is our favorite restaurant, favorite shirt or friends. People of different skin color have been played up by the media and the people to the point that everyone on here and 99% of the world consider it a truth that there are in fact different "races" of humans when in fact its just a slight variation on how our bodies handle melatonin ( how ever you spell it). From this point the best thing we could all do is try to teach and understand that we are all just humans and that means we are the biggest pieces of shit this earth has ever seen

Ron Paul is bonkers.

At no point in that rambling diatribe did he put forth supporting evidence or even a theory as to why the Civil Rights Act was not responsible for improving race relations. He invents a fantasy and uses it as supporting evidence in his argument.

That's bonkers.

seems like to me its the people going after Rand are the ones trying to make it a platform

Other way around, you have to find where the federal govt has the RIGHT to pass that law.

Besides, the 1st amendment gives you the right of association. Be it protest, or just keeping _____ group out of your business. It's your right.

Except they don't have the RIGHT to exclude based on those things, thanks to the Civil Rights Act of 64.
