I'm doing a research assignment and are a little confused over these..
a) Would an Ancient Roman woman (say, plebian or patrician) have a platonic friendship with a Ancient Roman senator who has a family?
b) Referring to the previous question; If a dinner party was held by the senator for the Roman women, would other women attend it? Did women attend Roman dinner parties?
c) What did women and men wear to Roman dinner parties (this is all Ancient Rome, in the period that Augustus was reigning)?
