With the plan I have now, when I get to the border to the USA from Canada it roams into AT & T. I get a text saying roaming rates... $1.45/min, $0.75/text, data up to $0.03/kB ... this is insanely expensive so I just turn my iPhone into Airplane mode. I am traveling to the states basically every weekend for the next 8 months for hockey tournaments and I need my phone to get ahold of my parents/friends. Is there anyway I can get my plan to switch into the States by adding an extra amount of money making it the same plan so I don't get roaming charges?
