rogers contract done can i switch plans?

ive been with rogers for 3 years and im done the contract
im currently paying 40$ blackberry plan but i want to switch
my friends been with rogers for 2 years and he pays 40 dollars for
unlimited text, 1gb of data, free on weekends afternoon 6pm, 400
min and caller id
i want to switch to this plan. can call and switch?
