Rogers and my feeling of their lacking...

I gave my old BlackBerry 7100 to a friend of mine when his cell phone screens broke. So we talked about data plans and costs... He couldn't believe the costs associated.. Then the next day I'm talking to my brother about his want of getting a BlackBerry. And he wouldn't get one due to costs per month... So I wrote a complaint to Rogers... Dunno what effect it will have...

I'll update with what they say... I don't expect change... Might be nice to see a change from the giant red wireless monster of Canada...

Compare prices between Rogers, Telus and Bell for data plans. All the same. Why blame Rogers alone? But it's good that you actualy sent a constructive letter...like any co. they can fall under customers pressure.

It is a fact that cellphones of any types is VERY expensive in Canada but the governement is also to blame.

I've got some emails back from Rogers... First one was asking for account # and age... Then the next one saying someone would get back to me again... So I called cust serv and talked to someone in a call center. She was nice. Listened to my points and had no real ideas for her to fix my problem. I explained that the problem lies with corporate and that they need to lower prices not increase them to get more customers. Everyone I see who buys a phone asks for what one is free... Goes with that... Rogers (all wireless providers) need to get the customer at that moment... Ask have you thought about a smart phone? the customer is going to say wtf and at that moment. if they see value... they will buy.

In the end she credited my account for 15 dollars. Then gave me free local calling for 3 months... While that made me happy. I explained that the problem still exists for everyone. That until Rogers starts competing with other wireless companies the problem will remain.

I'll await someone email/calling me tomorrow.

Sad...

What are you expecting out of this exactly?

Why did you call customer service? They're like at the bottom of the food chain, just like i am at my Rogers store. Get ahold of some corporate heads emails and mail them.

@StaceyRVC: I actually tried to back in 2000... There was a company I was speaking with... however it fell through. Would be nice now. With the low prices of data vs Rogers here in Canada.

Also I received what I figure will be the last email from Rogers...

I'm no where near this right now...

Am I seeing too much into this? the reply Moridar received from Rogers pointed to Rogers Vision, http://www.shoprogers.com/store/wireless/services/vision/overview.asp

Now it says the service is offered in the Toronto area only. Fine, I live in Toronto so so far so good. Go to the Offers section of that page and note this, it says that for additional $5 on top of your existing Voice plan you can receive 10MB of data! (on a 3 yr. term). ... ahhmm, Is this a new development? ... I mean it completely beats their $65 for 1MB plan http://www.shoprogers.com/business/wireless/plans_services/business_plans.asp?shopperID=FG30J575256M9M1X5F5EQ5WBK8KEBK49&plan=blackberryvoicenemail&cat=3&typ=2

(oooohhh, what a deal, yeah!, sign me up for that 1MB)

Anyways, Einherjer, what do you think? I haven't contacted Rogers yet and you're our Rogers insider. Come on man, hit me with some good news.

Offers might be different for Ontario residents but i do know there's a 5$ option to double the allowed bandwidth of DATA plan. I'll check when i'm at work thuersday.

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~for all the blackberry users out there Rogers is kind enough to offer the 8800 to Edmontonians for $99 yes $99 on a three year plan. Why exactly do they treat existing customers outside of the city to the marvelous price of $525 with a three plan. Rogers at it's best!
