Rode a bike for the first time in years... 3 days later my arse still

stings like a bitch... advice? This is quite embarrassing, but I've decided to go on a bike ride with my brother once a week to lose weight. I rode my bike (for the first time in years) three days ago and my arse has been really hurting ever since. It hasn't improved since biking. I want to go out again four days from now, but I'm not sure if my arse can take it =S... Is there anything I can do to make the ride more comfortable? And how can I get rid of the pain I'm having now? I'm thinking, maybe a gel seat could stop it hurting and maybe prevent pain from occurring afterwards. I'm a 16 year old obese male just so you know... I'm not really THAT obese, I mean, my bike doesn't bend when I sit on it, but trust me... I'm quite heavy nonetheless lol. Anywho, please give me advice on what I should do about biking in the near future.
ALSO... after biking, aside from the arse pains, I also caught a monstrous cold, sore throat, blocked sinus, general shitty feeling... so, yeah, just a little more info to aid your answer...

You want to go on shorter rides until you get use to the saddle. People that have ridden all last summer and take the winter off will have to go through butt rehab every spring. Your legs help to support your weight so make sure the saddle is adjusted properly. Take a short ride every day if you can, just ridding once a week wont do you any good.

this all depends on the cycling your doing. A padded gel seat isn't the answer. A good pair of padded bike shorts will work. If your just into cruising around than wear shorts over them. If your into a road bike, than a hard saddle is better.

Also, try to ride it out. You will be sore after 3 years of no riding. it will take 2 weeks, for it to go away. Also, go to bike shop and get your sit bone measured. They may be able to help out with the perfect size saddle for your sit bone.

Get a pair of padded shorts.

Actually get a harder seat, not softer. a gel seat will push into your soft tissues and you'll never enjoy longer rides.

use a topical anti-inflammatory cream such as diclofenac after the rides (re-apply 3-4 times daily).

ride regularly, that toughens up the bones. What you have is mild periostitis of the sitbones. if you keep riding, it will eventually toughen up.

RE. the cold:
when you start exercising, you drain your body a lot. You leave an "open window" for viruses to attack you because the physical strain also weakens your immune system.

When you come home, hop right under the shower, get into some warm clothing and eat soething containing some protein.

With time, endurance exercise STRENGTHENS your immune system. I rarely get sick anymore.
