Rocky Horror Picture Show: Rated R?

My dad and I like many of the same movies. Apparently, he'd went to see The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Broadway or something. I was playing Just Dance: Broadway and I was dancing to one of the RHPS songs and my dad then decided to get it on Netflix. SO NOW, we have found out that it is R rated. It's been years since my dad saw it so he doesn't remember why it was rated R. Does anyone know why?
 
HAHAHAH it is very R. It is pretty much based on sex and transexuals. It is the storyline for the most part.
