I have the same cool machine, same color. Great machine to cruise on that is small. Took my first road trip Sunday to the bug fest in Chattanoga, Tn. Rode Hwy 41 back to Atlanta town. Congrats on a great bike.

Hello gang. Again, thanks for the kind replies from everyone that has written so far to my little thread, really appreciate that :)

Just wanted you all to know, I did a 'test run' out on the road last evening (before sundown of course) and road 3/4 the way to work! It was a BLAST! Only a 13.5 mile round trip, but I got a chance to deal with real intersections and some traffic! It seemed that people kept their distance behind me on the back roads, and when the directionals came on for me to make a turn here and there, I noted they were NOT tailgating.

It was as if they knew I was on my first 'longish' ride away from home!

So, this morning, I will be taking her all the way to my shop and I can't wait. Then, since I have no saddle bags yet, I can't bring my lunch, so I will have to run out on the bike to go out and get a bite to eat.

There are 3 other fellow employees that ride, and they have been looking forward for me to arrive on two NEW wheels :D

Stay tuned, I'll keep you posted on this day and how things went.

So far, the bike feels great, just not used to the higher RPM when I am around 55mph or so. Must be normal.

More later.

Have a great Friday.

Hey Diamond Jim... No, not like that guy! I DID stall it out while leaving my shop today, just didn't let it warm up enough, my fault. Todays trip to work was great. I decided to hook up with my chiropractor with the Ducatti and to meet him at his office was a trip with lights, LOTS of Friday traffic etc. It was a great test and I felt pretty good in the middle of all of it!

Met at his office, then take off from there out on some country roads. On the way back, bumper to bumper traffic over a long bridge etc. We were side by side, talking about the bikes and such. It was a whole NEW experience for sure! Stalled it on the bridge as it was a steep incline on the up side, so that was new to me, ended up holding back some traffic while I got it running and back in gear

I took the highway back home which was pretty exciting. One 18 wheeler went by and it was NOT a problem for me. I kept my speed between 60 and 65 mph. The buffeting from the passing traffic was not as bad as I thought it would have been.

Lovin' THIS stuff !!! (why did I ever wait so long to get started???)

I know how you feel brother man, I'm glad your enjoying your bike. :bluethum:

You'll find that you will gain confidence over time and you'll learn something new with every ride. Just remember to always respect your machine and ride like they don't see you. Stay safe.
