For capacity, you can over pack the leather bags more easy and not do any damage. Keep stuffing those hard bags and you get cracks eventually. I can adjust the buckles and really pack stuff away.
That said, I tend to travel as light as possible now. I usually have one bag empty or my tour pack is empty.
