Road Glide...Ultra or Custom???

I bought the Ultra Limited, because I could not feel the Road Glide. But now that I think about it more and more. I wish I'd gotten the Road Glide.

Two up - The RGU Ultra wins hands down. Full touring suspension and the intercom are great.

Plan B - keep what you have and start a family. Your touring days are going away if you have a baby, along with your excess income and your desire to have both parents on one motorcycle. Major corporations put executives on different flights for the same reasons - and they don't have to be concerned with cows, deer, and old ladies who seem to aim for motorcycles....

Now if you're really planning on riding solo after the babies start coming, the RG Custom is the ticket - if you can afford the bike after she divorces you! Seriously, your priorities/lifestyle/wife's attitude are going to change when you have children. It's one of the most stressful events in life - and it lasts 18+ years. I'd hold off on a new bike until you have a chance to get things settled down on the homefront. It'd be a bummer having a year-old bike and not riding it.

I'd go with the Ultra and dress it down. One of the determining factors that made me buy my SG was I HATE the fenders front and back on the ultra/classic. And it would have cost me too much money to get it just the way i wanted it. Now The RG Ultra has the same smooth fenders without all the extra bumpers and stuff. I'd go with the Ultra and just detach the tour-pak.

Get the Ultra if you think you might ever enjoy 2up touring. You can always swap the mounting hardware out for the 4-point docking kit and have it be quick detachable.

It get's pricey to start without the add-ons, and then add them on...
