Road Glide owners...How do you like your bikes?

Hey everyone, I'm looking to get my first HD within the next few months. I went to a couple dealers to look at some EGC's. I'm 6'1", 260 lbs. I felt a little cramped on the EGC they had. The assistant sales manager suggested I try the Road Glide, he said bigger guys are more comfortable on them. I did like the fit, more roomy for my arms and legs. He also said they cruise smoother at higher speeds due to the frame mounted fairing. How do you guys like yours?

6'4" 280 lbs - Changed to HD Sundowner Seat and changed handlebars to Wild 1 Mini Apes - Also installed Hwy Pegs - Fits Great Now... Best Cruzer Ride HD makes (I think) and I have had a few HD's... Can cruze for hours... Great Wind Cutter with the frame mounted fairing and handles the curves like a dream...

LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will too, Trust Me!!!!!!

Thundercloud,,

You still there???

I'm up here in Woodbridge... probably going to Patriot HD today and try and work the best deal and trade the RD King in on a 07 RD Glide. You know anything about Colonial HD over in Prince George?

I am 6' 190lbs, stock seat was great for me but the "chick" on back couldn't stand more than about 200 miles so I put on a Sundowner seat, we'll ops check it in about 3 weeks. I HAD to change out the stock handlebars. Just caused a pinch inbetween my shoulders. Put on a set of chrome Wide Glide bars. They did the trick and it's the best $40 I ever spent on a bike. Put some miles on her. My 06 has right at 18K and I plan on puttin at least 12K on her this year.

The RG is a great road bike. I bought mine last summer, added highway pegs and a rider back rest then took off for Detroit, MI., 560 miles in 10 hours. Rode another 100+ miles that evening just running around seeing folks and was still good for a longer ride.

As someone else already pointed out, the RG is Harley's "best kept secret". The frame mounted fairing makes it a better handling bike at slow speeds and in windy conditions. It also is probably the best value of the full tourers - full instrumentation, hard luggage; radio/CD, cruise, accessory socket, fairing storage compartments - for the same price as a Road King Classic or just a few hundred more dollars than the other Road Kings. What it lacks in stock chrome farkles, it makes up for in functionality.

My '07 will be my 2nd.
