Hey, everyone. I am a short woman (5' 0") looking to purchase a road bike online. The problem is that, since I am purchasing online, I don't have the opportunity (or time) to go and try out some bikes. I have to get a bike now as I do not have any form of transportation currently. I've always been interested in purchasing a road bike, so I see this as an opportunity to actually go for it. I know absolutely nothing about road bikes and how to find the correct fit for me, so I was wondering if someone could tell me what standover height and frame size I need to be looking for. My budget right now is forcing me to look into vintage used bikes that are under $150, which is limiting my selection greatly. My inseam is 28", so should I be looking for a bike with a standover height that is 28" and smaller? If anyone could tell me exactly what range and measurements I need, it;d be greatly appreciated! Also, what top tube measurement would a small girl like myself need? Someone told me to be looking for on in the 49 cm range. Is that correct?
