Fuji Royale (not sure on the year, early 90s)

Suntour componets that came originally on the bike. Non-index shifters on the down-tube - 12spd.

Aluminum frame, approx 27lbs

The bike was sitting at some old lady's house for 15+ years and she sold it at a garage sale to a bike shop owner for $25. He fixed it up by doing the/adding the following:

Tune up ..........$37
New 27" QR Alloy rear wheel ..........$40
SRAM PC850 Chain ..........$15
Pair of brake pads ..........$4
Profile Black Cork handlebar tape ..........$13
Alloy silver water bottle cage ..........$5
used pedals w/toe clips ..........$10

Now hes selling for $200, he'll sell it to me for $150 because I spend loads of $$ at his shop and he knows I will accessorize my next bike solely through his store.

Not looking for a carbon fiber, lighter than my toothbrush-racer. Just want something that will last me the summer. In Oct 09 I am buying a full-CF FELT ($5k+ new) for $1,200 so I dont want to spend alot right now.

Its either THIS or the Kent GMC Denali at Walmart. What do you think??
DUH:

I assume you can deal with the non index down tube shifting. I like bar end suntours for friction non index shifters.

What would I have to "deal with"? Having to shift from the down-tube rather than by handlebars? Tried to research "non-index shifting" to not much avail...can you explain to me a little?? THANKS A BUNCH!!

Don't buy the Denali - go with the Schwinn 700 at Walmart and have it shipped to the store to save shipping costs. Here's the link:
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4698938 - I bought it a few weeks ago and have more than 200 miles on it. It's great. I did the 35 mile Tour de Tucson and did 15 miles to and from work today.

I don't know the details on the Fuji - I would do some searches on ebay, etc to try to price comparison it out. The only thing I can add is with either bike, make sure it fits you properly so you get the most out of it.

If that includes the bike shop inspecting all the components, lube and adjust, ( a good tune-up should) then I would go for the bike shop Fuji.

I assume you can deal with the non index down tube shifting. I like bar end suntours for friction non index shifters.
