After trying many antibiotics and creams i finally saw a dermatologist who put me onto roaccutane. He believed that one long treatment is better than shorter treatments so i started on 20mg a day then moved to my maximum 80mg a day during the middle of my treatment. At first nothing happened then about 2 months in it started to work wonders. By 5 months i had perfect skin and this continued until last deceraber. Whether it was exam stress or summer heat i dont know but i was on 40mg and had a massive breakout, the first one in 8 months! I thought it would go away but it was almost a month and nothing had improved, i continually got breakouts on my face. I saw my dermotologist and he said dont worry just "ride it out" and increased my dose to 80mg again. There is still no difference.
Have i now got a resistance to accutane? Will my skin get worse when i stop my medication or will it improve? If it doesn't improve does anyone have something that is just as effective as roaccutane that i can move onto instead?
P.S sorry for the long post
