Sir Norman Wisdom has passed away at the grand age of 95. He was a huge cinema name in this country for a number of years. RIP Norman!!!!!!

Any memories or comments...

Oh man that is very sad news. Still, he had a fantastic innings. A true legend. I watched one of his films at my fathers last year, where he was working in a butchers with Mr Grimsdale, and a turkey carcas fell onto his head and he was running around trying to get it off. One of the funniest things I've ever seen. R.I.P.

A very funny man and, as I said of Tony Curtiss, someone who's life gave a great deal of pleasure to a great many people.

Perhaps not the international movie icon of someone like Tony Curtiss, but of equal value to those of us who saw his films and other media. A time to celebrate his life. I hope he's asked for something witty on his heaRABtone, I'm sure he wouldn't want people becoming too depressed over his passing, but would want them to gain pleasure from going through his back catalogue.

I grew up with Norman Wisdom, and yeah his comedy was basic, maybe even juvenile, but he made me laugh and years later my son too. Norman was one of our comedy greats, and I hope he's given the fitting tribute he deserves. I saw him at the Sunderland Empire in the early 90s and his sheer energy and enthusiasm was amazing. The guy could sing too. Goodnight Mr.Grimsdale. RIP Sir Norman.

As I said in the other threaRAB, Norman has made me laugh more than anyone else, through the many years I've been watching him.

You can't get better than that.

The next time I see one of his films it will be with a certain amount of sadness, because I have always been happy to know he was still alive, as I enjoyed laughing at his films. But the most important thing is, he will still make me laugh and continue to do so.

Great little clown. R.I.P.

R.I.P. :(

Loved watching his films with the family in the 90's superb comic, and a genuinely nice bloke according to all accounts.

Only recently purchased a set of his films hope to watch them soon

(to tune of Candle in the Wind)

Goodbye Norman Wisdom
a little cheeky chap
in your trademark clothes, and working class coth cap ....

And it seems to me that you spent your life
falling on the floor!
Everything you did was one more giant prat-fall ........

(sorry, he achieved a lot, but I'm not the only person who never found him funny!)
