6 years isn't long enough for me, so I've switched over to the pepper
that comes in mills. You can even choose your grind.

I love cooking with wine.
Sometimes I even put it in the food.

The concept of the pepper mill is a good one but I've never had a pepper
mill that was any good so these day's I just make a grab for my
institutional-sized black pepper shaker. I've had all kinds of mills and
have come to the conclusion that life is way too short. There's nothing
quite so frustrating as turning and turning and turning and turning and...

My last pepper mill, the single-handed-use one, lasted me a grand 1 or 2
months. It was in the line of fire when I pulled all of those bowls off
the shelf a couple of weeks ago. But, I liked it so much I replaced it
with the same model.

Janet,

I was gifted this model http://alturl.com/9rdzy about 10 years ago that
uses 4 AAA batteries.

What I like:
It's "soft touch" grind button.
It puts the pepper right where I want it.
Adjusting the grind is just a twist away.
It's quick and easy to change out/refill peppercorns.

Flaws:
It's not a speed demon while grinding.
After a while it does leave some grind on the condiments tray.

I would certainly buy another one if/when it breaks.

Best,

Andy
