The new trailer looks fab. Can't wait for this one to come to the cinema! Especially since it is directed by the same director as the Japanesse original.

Though the Japanesse sequels to the original are medicore at best........I have faith that this one will be fab.

For some reason i never found the Japanesse versions to be scary......ok they are a bit but not that much.

Anyways....This one looks better then White Noise one out at the moment so...... enjoy
 
the trailer is alright but it looks like the americans have rewritten the story again. doesn't the japanese version follow the photographers assistant rather than the main woman from the first film? I've not watched it in ages and I can't be sure
 
Without sounding a geek - every version has changed the story a bit. The true origional is the book but this is very deep and very "japanese" and to be honest wouldn't have made a very popular movie.

Since the book there have been a host of other novels, manga comic books, japanese tv series, trading card games, series of japaense movies (including an unpopular one called rasen with is often forgot about.) Every one has borrowed bits from the book and made its own version of the story.

I would be surprised if the ring2 USA was the same as Ring2 Jap as it wouldnt have big role for Watts. they are probably just adding to the tale.

Ring 0 - the prequal was based on the story called Lemmonheart, which was taken from the book called Birthday which contained 3 short ring stories. One of these was on Sadakos early years. To be honest I dont think they would do a movie on a similar theme.

The problem with this would be that Ring 0 is about Sadako/Samaras time with the therater troup and wasnt referenced in the american movie versions (played a big part in the book).

There are plenty of other stories they can tell. My personal favourite would be how Sadako got her powers from her mother and her birth/creation. Mind you I could be getting a little ahead of myself here. lol
 
I loved ring 0 because it actually characterised sadako and you realise what she was going through and how she was once just a normal girl, not just a scary girl in a well

Shush! I'm on an LCD screen at the moment.....you think it works with these too?

To keep on the topic I'd just like to say this looks good. I watched the first one in Feb 2002 on a plane. I'm scared of flying so hearing the entire cabin scream all at once is not a nice thing. Good atmosphere though.
