Rim and tire question on my 07 Wrangler Sahara?

I have a 07 jeep wrangler sahara. I have the factory 18in rims witch i like but would like to downsize to a 16in rim to make mud tires more affordable. My question is if I buy a 16x8 rim to fit my jeep can i put a 33x10.5x16 tire on that rim? Secondly will I need more lift to run 33's and will i need spacers? Any help would be great.
