...go on spending sprees? to my recollection, I don't remember any billion dollar banks and investment corporations running to go create jobs for americans. Instead they went on lush lavish spending sprees and jet setting retreats to luxurious locations. They also bought up small banks in other countries that had no ties to america and gave their CEOs humongous bonuses. AIG, Bank of America, etc...How that for "the rich creating jobs"?

@Samm: jobs come from plain old supply and demand and american innovation..that's where. They come from education and people going to get degrees in professions that provide a career. They come from building of american infrastructure and entrepreneurship. and yes, they come from large corporations hiring also. but they are always going to look out for number 1 first. continuing BILLION DOLLAR tax breaks for them isn't going to change that. If so, it would have already..dammit , can't you see that?
 
As an independent, I believe you should also address this question to Obama and the rest of the democrat-controlled 2008 Congress.

Edit for Johnny: I live in Michigan as well. We still have double digit unemployment and we lost population. This state is a desecrated corpse, nothing was saved.

the stimulus wasn't about creating jobs. it was about funneling money to the democrat party through various hidden indirect means.
 
No, They went and spent if like drunken pigs. They did not use it for its intended purpose. This is exactly why all governmental aid should be eliminated from every possible place that is not found in the US constitution.

That is, if you choose believe facts from THIS year from the Treasury and Labor Dept. Or you can continue to use 2008 media data
 
Here in Michigan it saved thousands of jobs and now that GM and Chrysler are over the hump thousands of jobs have been created.

Without the government bailout Michigan would be toast.
 
Corporations are a government sanctioned business model...you cannot be against corporations and still be pro government....that is a lie that liberals repeat constantly here...where do all the working liberals work at anyway? The animal shelter?
 
You have a point, given a choice business men are always going to decide to do what is best for them, not everyone else. Massive deregulation is the main culprit behind the last couple of recessions.
