right shoulder injury

just how is this shoulder injured and do you have it in a sling? i just went thru,in feb of this year,a rotator cuff repair surgery and believe me, EVERYTHING was difficult. are you talking trying to get out of the drivers or the passengers side? does your current vehicle actually have any handles above you like in the ceiling area by the door frame? or is it an older type vehicle? thankfully for me,both my car and my hubbys truck had those handles and i used them ALOT. if i knew just exactly what you mean by 'getting out of the car" it would help alot in giving you the best advice. just scooting yourself a bit(kinda side to side with your butt and working forwards?) at a time will work too. once you can get your body turned and your legs out,its pretty easy to pull yourself with your legs too. but if you do have those handles above you,it really does help tons. it just all takes a bit of experimenting and practice, but eventually you will work out a good way that best works for you and your injury. if you have problems turning, you can always lay down on the seat under you, like a plastic garbage bag or something slick that will ease your turning ability a bit too. marcia
