is it illegal to ride my bike on sidewalks of vancouver wa? i dont just want a "yes or no" answer. i tried looking this up but can't really come up with a direct answer. i know in some states it IS illegal.
There is no police officer that will give you a ticket for riding your bike on the sidewalk at 5mph. It becomes an issue when some cyclist thinks he is at the Paris-Roubaix and starts flying down the sidewalk at 25mph!!! Most cyclists prefer the road anyways.
I assume you want to ride on the sidewalk at 5mph. Thats slightly faster than walking and tolerated. If you ride close to 10mph a lot of people might complain. Sidewalk is not a bike path.
