riding a 2 stroke motocross bike on a track for the first time?

so i am hopfully buying a RM85 this week, and i understand that they have power bands that give you a quick speed at 3rd and 4th gear, but when you hit the power band, what happens? do you go flying off the bike? ha and will trying to ride a 2 stroke for the first time with the power bands make me scared of riding?
which one would be easier for me to ride, a RM85, or a YZ80? which one has a power valve, and what is a power valve? THANKSS
