Riddles for extra credit HELP?

Okay first riddle/weird question is what is the shortest word you can make using these letters, you can use other letters as well but must use these letters at least
ABCDEF


Second riddle/question is
There are two 8 letter words, each word has the same last 7 letters and are made up of two colors, but the first letter of each is different creating the two different words.
Also for the other one maybe lumbered is lumber and red combined?
if so I got slumbered but dunno another word including lumbered
Must use all the letters ABCDEF I found it out though its Feedback
 
The shortest word i can make is "a".

As for the second one, i'm not sure i understand the 'made up of two colors' part, but ''crawling'' and ''brawling'' fit the rest of the description
