If you were in a Car race and there were three contestants including you. During the race you pass the person who is in "last" place, what place are you now?.

If that person I passed is last... I must consider myself extra-last.... Or else you need to look into relativity to answer this....
Long story short- How can I pass a person who is already last...
You could be in 1st place and lapping an opponent, or 2nd place and both of you are lapping the opponent OR The question was " what place are you now ? " my answer is HOME.
