I recently moved to a property and there are about eight rhododendrons in the garden that are all well established.
I am quite keen to have a productive garden that consists of plants that either produce something for the table or something for the wildlife.
I am basically looking for a reason to keep the Rhododendrons because i am on the verge of ripping them up.
Besides the pretty flowers and the fact that they are evergreen - what do they contribute?
The flowers are brief and completely scentless and i haven't seen a single bee or beneficial bug anywhere near them!
The plant itself is inedible and actually toxic to my chickens if they decided to have a nibble.
Does a Rhododendron have a place in my garden?
