Rhode University in Grahamstown for a American Transfer?

Please help, I'm going to NYU, and when I'm a junior I plan on transfering to Rhodes in South Africa to finish journalism school. I know South African schools only require 3 years of college, but I was going to do 4. How much will this cost, what grades do I need to achieve, how would I get a visa, I has a USA passport, but I need to get a visa. Please help, thank you so much :)
Also, how is Grahamstown different from New York City? I know it's a small town, but I've never been to Africa before.
