I have a number of bare PCBs, motherboards, CPUs, etc. just lying around, and I never use them. Is there some way to reverse electro-plate the precious metals off of these? For example, sand the soldermask off, and then remove all of the copper off of the PCB, collecting onto another piece of copper.
