Retrenchment Advise needed?

I work for a company which employs 150 employees. We are split into different division ( products) But now one division is closing and we are told that the company will be retrenching as a result of loss of income.

I don't work in the division that is closing, so I don't understand why my job is on the line?

We are going to hear on friday who they have chosen to retrench.

Any advise is welcome. I've never been through anything like this before.
