Restore computer with files extracted from norton ghost file?

I got norton ghost when I wanted to wipe my computer a while ago, and when I backed it up as a ghost file, it worked perfectly fine. Since then, I've gotten a second hard drive for media, and just saved the OS and program files on the previous disk. For whatever reason, I had to restore the OS disk from the backup today, and when it was almost finished restoring the backup, I got the error saying :
-Cannot copy data from the recovery point to the destination. --Error ED800012: The internal structure of the recovery point file (CRC Validation or Frame Header) is invalid, damaged or unsupported.
I tried it with the 8 or so recovery points that I had, and none of them worked. The thing is, when I just use norton ghost to recover FILES from the backup, everything works fine.

TL;DR: Can I just copy the files recovered from the backup to the OS drive, and be on my merry way, or is there something that I have to add or set up in order for the computer to boot from those?
