My dad has a 1978 Mustang that's been sitting in my grandparents drive way for about 16-17 years. It hasn't been driven for that amount of time. I would like to get it restored to the point where I can drive it. I believe the last time the engine was replaced was the mid-late 80s. I'm wondering how much it'll cost to get it drivable. This isn't including anything that involves the way it looks or a new engine. The interior is absolutely perfect. Could some one give me an estimate of how much it would cost to get some of the essential parts replaced and the cost of labor? I don't think I'll be able to do it alone xD
This isn't for a collectible thing. I fell in love with the car several years back and would love to have this as my first car.

That's the car. I scraped the white vinyl shit off though. Needs new tires, I have the hubcaps in the back. The muffler needs to be replaced. The mirror on the passenger side door has been smashed and is just dangling from the door. My mom told me that the engine was replaced in the late 80s but they stopped using the car awhile afterwards (as they had to give it to my grandparents to pay something off). Needs a new battery (obviously).
