Hello. I am a waitress at a local restaurant. A few months ago the owner of the restaurant made a rule that no worker is allowed to be on their cell phone, or even bring it into the building. If the cell phone is even visible, on it or not, they will take your cell phone and MAIL it back to you. It could be a week before you get your cell phone back. I was curious if this form of punishment is legal and if a person's rights are violated by this rule. Its hard to believe they enforce this rule, considering many people like me have only their cell phone as a way of communication and drive good distances regularly, also what if the cell phone got lost in the mail or broken/damaged.
