Reset Crash

Every time I reset or refresh I get a crash after the following message:
Fatal Alert: Memory Mgr.c, Line:6014, Heap ID not found.
This is not a fatal mistake, but inconvenient, because every time It resets it goes to a gibberish screen with ?error creating? on it. The only way I can get around this is to hit the ?up? while resetting it, and then it goes to the prefs screeni, and I have to activate a bunch of programs individually.
Any Suggestions?

What program where you using when you received this error message? You meantion the word "refresh" - is this under LauncherX?

Yes to LX, and I believe I was using FileZ to remove a program that appears in the Prefs-Other. The program I was removing was BattMon (battery monitor). I already use battery graph and was just looking at that one. Greedy, huh? Be satisfied with what you?ve got.

I'm not familiar with Battmon but there may be an option in the program to disable it before trying remove it. There are several programs which need to be disabled such as PDA Defense pro before deleting or unsinstalling because these programs run actively in the background or have "hooks" into other programs.

Calling me ma'am? - I'm actually a Mr :)

Sorry - I'm out of ideas at this point - maybe someone else could shed light...
Good Luck,

I've had a problem with Launcher X in the past where a file was deleted but Launcher X would cause the system to crash.

I think it has something to do with the Launcher X Database file. I deleted the database and other files and eliminated the problem. But be warned - when you delete these files you have to redefine your "tabs" and move the programs to the appropriate area. You lose all your personal settings in Launcher X.

Another idea would be to visit the following site:

www.launcherxplanet.com

It is a forum with some (if not all) of the beta testers for Launcher X. You could also visit the launcher x site:

www.launcherx.com

and check their FAQ and other support areas.

Thank you all again for all the helpful suggestions. The last one was to go to the DataViz Web site and the second time in a row the Author had the answer. This time also, in the FAQsl; There appears to have been a conflict between Launcher X and Some program I deleted. By deleting and reinstalling Lx, DxToGo, the problem was solved. But first I had to hard reset, and then restore from My Card Backup.

For anyone who has a doubt about backing up their Palm to a card, just ask me. It has saved weeks of time on several occasions. It is such a comfort to know that I have a recent backup of the entire Palm just a few minutes away from being restored when needed. I backup almost every day to two Cards. It is the answer to a lot of problems down the road.

Sorry KimH for the misunderstanding, I apologize. I know lots of Kims, all female. Not having ever met you, I just mistakenly assumed (a bad word) the wrong gender. My humble apologies, no offense intended.
