tend to have a high need fo Research has shown a number of characteristics associated with entrepreneurs. They tend to have a high need for achievement. That is, they have a strong desire to solve problems on their own, enjoy setting goals and achieving them through their own efforts, and like receiving lots of feedback on how they are doing.

Additionally, entrepreneurs are likely to have an internal locus of control. When a person with an internal locus of control fails or makes a mistake, he or she is likely to accept responsibility for the outcome and try harder, rather than search for external reasons to explain the failure. This characteristic makes entrepreneurs persistent and motivated to overcome barriers that would deter others. (People with an external locus of control believe that what happens to them is due to luck, fate, or factors beyond their control.)

Entrepreneurs are likely to score high on the personality trait of "openness to experience," meaning that they are predisposed to be original, open to a wide range of stimuli, be daring, and to take risks. Entrepreneurs likely have high levels of self-esteem and feel competent and capable of handling most situations.

Requirements: (1) Are there any similarities between the characteristics of an entrepreneur and those of a professional athlete explain? (2) Would an athlete be a good prospect for entrepreneurship? Why or why not? (3) Could team work be important in an entrepreneurial effort explain?
