im in high school right now age 17. i came to America at age 10, so i have basically lived here for 7 years. i believe my family came here with the inappropriate visa (not a permanent resident one, but something like a student one)? i will be heading to college soon and i want to know how i can get student aid/financial aid as my family is poor.
Am i at least considered a permanent resident?
Must you be a U.S. citizen* to be qualidifed for student aid? How about for permanent residents?
How do i become a citizen? (my friend recently got his u.s. citizenship). i know the gist of U.S history since i had us.history class and will have government soon.
We are a family of 3. mom, little brother, and i.
I have neither SSN nor greencard... so i just have my worthless passport and most likely an expired visa..
