requirements for marines?

ive been reading around on yahoo that you need to have BS degree to become a officer in the marines?? i also read somewhere you could have a BS degree or a BA degree to become a officer but than i also read that you need to take ROTC in college to become a officer can anyone tell me the real answer? also if they all have a different purpose or something plz let me know
