My husband had a car repossessed, actually he turned it back into the dealership and walked away. Today I have a business card from a "Special Process Investigations" and says to call right away. So I call and the guy talks about just leaving the DA's office from court and has some papers for my husband. SO I explain that we are not together anymore (we are separated but not yet divorced) and he proceeds to tell me that since they can't garnish his wages (he already has child support being garnished) they are going to garnish mine. I think the guy was talking a big game but any ideas on what could actually happen?

My husband and I no longer file joint returns, don't have joined checking accounts and I own my house sole and separate. We live in a community property state. Thanks!
No the car was purchased before we met. Yes he did take the car to the dealer left the keys in it and walked away. I didn't say he walked away from financial responsibility but that's exactly how they got their car back. The dealership was charging 28% and he was paying A LOT more than it was worth and when he got pulled over by a cop for having plates for another car (the dealership provided the plates) he decided he had been jerked around enough
