CAIRO — Authorities in Egypt have ordered the arrest of former President Mohammed Morsi over his alleged links to the militant group Hamas, the Egyptian state news agency MENA reported Friday.
Morsi was ousted from power on July 3 by the nation's military and Egypt's state prosecutor wants him questioned over suspicions he may have collaborated with the Palestinian group on attacks on police stations and prison breaks in 2011, MENA reported.
Protests have been called for later Friday in the Egyptian capital by the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamist groups who object to Morsi's ouster.
