Apple will hold an iPad event on Oct 22 to update the company's line of dominant tablet computers, AllThingsD reported Tuesday.
The fifth-generation iPad will likely be thinner and lighter, with an improved camera and Apple's new 64-bit A7 chip, AllThingsD said.
The second-generation iPad mini will have a retina display and the A7 chip, the tech news website added, citing unidentified people familiar with Apple's plans.
Apple representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment Tuesday afternoon.
