Replacing the motor in a Jeep Liberty?

I have a 2004 Jeep Liberty, The motor blew out of it last night, after 205k miles. I am now looking on ebay for a new motor, but the one I am looking at is a different year than the jeep I already have. I need to know exactly what i need to do to be able to do this motor switch. Any information is appreciated.
