Replace jeep xj grill and front end?

I own a 95 jeep cherokee and was wondering if a newer grill and front end (1996-2001) would fit mine. I want to update the older look, I saw it done on spike tv's 'TRUCKS!' with an 89 cherokee and a 1997 grill and front end. Would I have to buy new front fenders as well? Would the newer grill and front end fit right in, or would i have to modify it?
