Replace deck in my car? Or can I just swap out the faceplate?

I currently have a Panasonic CQ C7301U in my 2001 Volkswagen Golf, it has a detachable face plate. Would I be able to swap the current faceplate out for a different one with an auxiliary port such as this: Sony Xplod CDX-GT22W 208 Watts which is also a detachable faceplate
